Now that the Blogger API is back up, Bloggar, the API client I was trying out before, is back as well, with version 1.10 (upgrade or new install) available in English, Português Brasil, or Español (and it's now safe to edit your template with html character entities in it, and for the slow-witted like me, the Post button changes to Save while you are editing a template - thanks Marcelo!).

Interesting meta-blogging tool: the weblogs category from NewsIsFree not only aggregates blog posts for you, it also lets you see people's quickly corrected typos and deleted posts. For instance, at the moment I see where Cam took almost half an hour to correct (or NewsIsFree took half an hour to notice the correction to) "Do yoursefl a favor and telnet to this address: towel.blinkenlights.nl". Also, I see where a certain weblog software entrepreneur posted about something which would be too expensive for free, but perhaps for Pro... a post which doesn't actually seem to be on his site. Interesting!
Six days without getting to say "Sorry, you can't use Blogger with envy.nu" in Blogger Discuss. I'm going into withdrawl. Doesn't anybody have a question? (Other than "why can't I see my blog on envy.nu?")
The indefatigable Peter Scott's The Complete Guide to Web Logs has a directory of text ads, whether you are looking to advertise or to host ads.

Progress on various remote commenting fronts:
Marcus is starting to show some of what he has in mind for BlogBack Plus, including XML or dotcomments-format import/export.
Ruzz (of Big Blog Tool) is starting to show more of his hand about Big Comment Tool, both on his site and in my comments. Beta testing startsin a couple of weekssometime soon. I'm really looking forward to not having to answer questions in Blogger Discuss (when it finally comes back) with "well, right now your only choice is...".
YACCS is still plugging away, with 347 blogs, 1150 threads, and 1352 comments in only a week (and probably the slowest blogging week of the year). Anyone who plans on using YACCS better sign up pretty damn quick, because there will be more than 350 people signing up next week, and way more the week after that.
Now would be a nice time to point to some of my dotcomments work, either the comment admin script or the new version/fork/rewrite of the script itself, wouldn't it? Sorry, I've been spending way too much time playing with PHP and mod_rewrite, moving this (and, soon, the rest of my blogs) over to its new home. Maybe soon.
